A Psalm a Day 2020

Welcome to a Psalm a day 2020 and today we start from Psalms one. Blessed, happy, fortunate, prosperous and enviable is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly, not following their advice, their plans and their purposes. Nor stands submissive and inactive in the path where sinners walk. Nor sits down to relax and rest where the scornful and the mockers gather.

But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord. And on his law, the presence, the instructions, the teachings of God, he habitually meditates, ponders and studies by day and by night. And he shall be like a tree firmly planted and tended by the streams of the water, ready to bring forth it’s fruit in it’s season. It’s leaf also shall not fade or wither and everything he does shall prosper and come to maturity. Not so that wicked, those disobedient and living without God are not so, but they are like the chaff.

Waterless, dead without substance, which the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked, those disobedient and living without God shall not stand justified in the judgment. Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous, those who are upright and in right standing with God. For the Lord knows and is fully acquainted with the way of the righteous. But the way of the ungodly, those living outside God’s will shall perish and [inaudible 00:01:53] and come to nothing.

My listener today may the Lord God help us to walk in his ways and do his will for his glory. Amen. Father in Jesus name, thank you for your word today. We declare in the name of Jesus that we are blessed. We will not walk in step with the wicked. We will not stand in the ways that sinners stand. We will not sit in the company of mockers.

We declare today that our delight is in the law of the Lord. We declare today that we shall meditate on your law day and night. And we declare in the name of Jesus that we shall be like the tree that is planted by the streams of the waters. We shall yield foods in and out of season. We declare that we shall ever be green. We shall not wither.

And whatever we do, we will prosper. We declare in the name of Jesus for you have sanctified us and cleansed us Lord. And our steps are ordered by you. Now, we are not going to be like the wicked. We shall not be like the chaff that the wind blows away. We shall not be like the weak and stand in in judgment. We shall not be like the sinner standing in the assembly of the righteous.

For we declare, Lord, you are watching over our ways in the name of Jesus. And for that destruction shall not come near us in the name of Jesus Christ for the glory, honor and praise of your name. In Jesus’ name, amen, amen. May the Lord God bless you today as you start your day. May you walk blessed and highly favored because you are the righteous of the Lord. You are the blessing of the Lord. This is Pastor Lucy Paynter from Glorious Power Church with a Psalm a day, 2020. Amen.

I attended a worship experience recently. What a great place to be since it was the last Sunday of the year. I was filled with gratitude and adoration for making it through. One thing was certain as I drove to the event, I needed a safe space to just let my father know that I am grateful for His faithfulness. As we worshipped, I felt the unmistakable, tangible, overwhelming presence of God fill the place. I don’t know whether the others felt it or not, but with tears streaming down my face, I whispered to Him my gratitude. I did not care about who else can feel him or what will people think about me. Needless to say, I had spent a chunk of my preparation time applying makeup that day. My daughter Patience, whose opinion I value on my makeup, was astonished at how good it looked. “Mum, today it’s professional; you look amazing!” She had commented. As with all praises and compliments, that approval had put a spring on my step for the day. (I know you understand that good feeling that adds to your confidence. )

But when His presence came down, I didn’t care for the makeup or the new outfit I had adorned. I had to choose between saving face or seeking His face. I chose the latter.

As we progress in pursuit of God this year, let us chose to seek His face. When Mary worshiped at the feet of Jesus. She did not worry about what the people in the room thought about her or even said concerning her. She wiped His feet with her tears. Broke an expensive alabaster box of perfume. She did not care about the cost. I am sure the box had a way to open and sparingly use the perfume in bits. But she broke it, meaning gave it all. That Worship touched the heart of Jesus.

Purpose with me this year to touch His heart. Imagine what an experience we would have if we gathered in one accord and with the unity of purpose. The purpose is to touch His heart, to seek His face. Where we break our ego, dignity, and titles. Where our seat of emotions is freely released to express hunger, a thirst, and a desire for Him alone. Where our prayers are not aimed at receiving financial, material, or social breakthroughs, but it is all about His will, ways, and purpose.

Like Moses, my heart cries show me your glory. I am amazed at His goodness and glory, but I want to know Him. Yes, it is about the Kingdom, but can we focus on the King?

Christmas Traditions

A Merry Christmas to you all my

friends is what I wish you. I am grateful for the gift of love and family. Christmas season has always been a special day to me from my childhood. My parents traditionally bought us a new outfit every Christmas for as long as I can remember. On the Christmas eve we would all try on our new clothes to ensure they fit. On Christmas Morning, dressed up and jubilant we would attend the Christmas Service. After church we would head home prepared to eat all kinds of delicacies and food prepared by our mum.
I remember one Christmas that my mum invited the street kids to our house. This time they had bought clothes of different sizes and the street kids showered in our house got a change of clothes and joined us for the Christmas party. We had so much fun playing in the compound with these kids. I remember pausing, looking around and noting that the street kids are just like us. Before that I always feared them and made sure that I avoid being close to them when we went to the market.
Unfortunately after Christmas they had to go back to the streets but my parents assured them that they can always come over on Saturdays to shower and have meals with us.It became our new tradition.
That Christmas changed my perspective.
What is your Christmas tradition? Do you have memories you can share?

“I am Doing Something”

The Lord replied, “Look around at the nations; look and be amazed! For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn’t believe even if someone told you about it.
Habakkuk 1:5 NLT

In the midsts of trouble and confusion it is easy to think that God has forgotten you. When surrounded by pain and sorrow the hope of things turning around for good seems so far fetched. One awaits for the waves to carry you to your end.

When God spoke to Habbakkuk the above verse, he was at the his end. His complaint carries the sound of desperation. The Lord listened and replied. It is amazing to know that our Father understands our humanity and its limitations. He knew that what He was about to do if told to Habbakkuk He would not believe.

Yes! they are times when the Lord just gives us instructions to look around and be amazed. The amazement comes from the surprise of His Manifestation.

So when the going gets tough resignation is not the only option. You can choose to Look around with expectations. We may not have the clear picture of what we are looking for but, our eyes should not rest or let go.

As long as we are breathing things can turn around for good at any moment. This assurance comes from our faith in an everlasting Loving Father.

A decade ago, I was living through the motions of life. Life had become tough and rough. Crying and wailing became the norm in my prayer time. I would lie down at the altar and weep, my prayers lacked coherence. I concluded that since I have no words to explain to God what I need then He can decipher my tears and groaning.

Then one day the Lord sent someone to tell me that He will wipe away my tears and cause me to rejoice. I looked around and for sure I didn’t believe it. I remember asking HOW?

That question there is what causes many of us to not believe. But through the years I have come to learn that the How is not ours to figure out.

He said he will turn your life around!

He said you will forget the shame of your youth!

He said he is doing a new thing!

You can add on the list what He has said to you.

Stop trying to figure out how he will do it. Just believe, wait and watch eagerly.

Today I rejoice

I testify

I am amazed.

He did it for me.

He will surely do it for you.

“I got your Back:”

As we celebrate the Veterans today I am thinking about the bond of soldiers.
1. They never leave their wounded behind.
2. They got each other’s back.
3. They fight the enemy not one another.
4. They celebrate victory in humility as a team work effort.
5. Ranks and all protocols are honored and maintained.

Soldiers in the army of the Lord we can learn from the above list.
♤When one of us is wounded let us carry and care for them instead of destroying their remaining strength and dignity.
♤We need to assure our fellow Brethren that we got their backs in honesty and deeds.
♤Let us refocus our energy to fight our common enemy and stop fighting one another.
♤My victory is your victory let us all stand in our position and serve our purpose knowing that we are one body.
♤Respect to our leaders in every area of ministry is paramount. Remember we are all servants and the greatness in the kingdom is measured by servant hood.

For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.”

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Romans 8:31‭-‬32 KJV

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Recovering from Pain

Recovering from pain or disappointment of any kind is not something that just happens to some people and not to others. It is a decision! You make a decision to let go and move on. You learn from your mistakes. You gather up the fragments of your life and give them to Jesus, and He will make sure that nothing is wasted (see John 6:12). You refuse to think about what you have lost; instead, you inventory what you have left and begin using it with a thankful heart.

In Christ, not only can you recover, but you can also be used to help other people recover. Be a living example of a thankful person who always recovers from setbacks no matter how difficult or frequent they are. Don’t ever say, “I just cannot go on.” Instead, say, “I can do whatever I need to do through Christ. I will never quit, because God is on my side.”

Prayer of Thanks: Father, thank You that You bring healing in my life and You can create beauty from ashes. I pray that You will help me press on, refusing to quit. I want to use my experiences to help others find the same healing that I have found.

In the womb of the morning when darkness yet pervades.
Is a stillness of purpose that no one can take away.
To carry in intercession what He holds most dear
Is to walk in His purpose with Godly fear.

Gifts and sacrifices poured out on the altar
Ever present to give without falter.
Is the heart of a king who is a priest
Serving bread and wine, as one who is least.

Those who birthed in the darkened tomb
Will see the sun’s glory burst from the womb.
Many shall come in the day of thy power
When Your glory comes and rains in shower.

Ps 110:3-4 NKJV
Your people shall be volunteers in the day of Your power; In the beauties of holiness, from the womb of the morning, you have the dew of Your youth.
The LORD has sworn and will not relent, “You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”

After today’s sermon, I have developed a deeper desire to know God’s ways. Yeah not just to see His works but to know His ways.

Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known” (Psalms 77:19).

God walks on the water, but you will never see His footprints there.

My Declarations!!

I don’t want provision and protection without Your presence.

I’m not going to settle for any blessing without the Blesser.

I don’t want the land without the Lord.

I desire to know Him.

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,” “neither are your ways My ways, saith the Lord.”

Don’t ever make the mistake of thinking God’s ways are like your ways or God’s thoughts like your thoughts.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.”

Your thoughts are never going to reveal to you God’s ways. God’s ways are always mysterious.
Yeah, if we are not to rely on our thoughts or ways then this calls for intimacy.

An intimate relationship with God does not come by observation, like seeing God part the Red Sea. It does not come by interrogation or reasoning. It comes by spending time face to face with God.

You cannot love a person until you know their ways, and you cannot know their ways until you spend time with that person. When we learn to seek His face and not His hand, we will know His ways and find rest for our souls.

When you know God intimately, there is serenity. Peace comes into your life. God gives you rest. There is stability. There is sufficiency. And you learn, no matter how bad the problem, not only is God necessary; God is enough.
I desire to get there👌👌

Great Faith

Matthew 15:21- 28
21 And Jesus went out thence and withdrew into the parts of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And behold, a Canaanitish woman came out from those borders, and cried, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a demon. 23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. 24 But he answered and said, I was not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 25 But she came and [i]worshiped him, saying, Lord, help me. 26 And he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s [j]bread and cast it to the dogs. 27 But she said Yea, Lord: for even the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. 28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it done unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was healed

Jesus reaction to the Canaanite woman:
1. He answered her not a word; Silence treatment.
Sometimes when you are waiting for an answer to your prayers, people may mistake your waiting time as denial. The disciples thought because Jesus answered her not that it was ok for her to be sent away.
@Opened a door for the disciples to request she be sent away.
@ They labeled her a wailer crying after them.
People may even give you a nickname associated with your actions as you continue to persist. I have heard people say that all they know is pray, pray why isn’t God answering. They may think you are crazy, but brethren keep praying. Delay is not Denial!

2. Jesus said he wasn’t sent to help her a gentile but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Jesus made sure that she understood that she was not worthy of his help. Yes, she was a Canaanite a gentile not worthy to be treated with preferential treatments, but she continued, unwavering.
3. He insisted on her status. It is not meet to take the children’s bread and cast it to the dogs.
Why did Jesus compare her with a dog? Because she was a gentile and that’s how the Jews treated Gentiles. Allow me to remind you the foundation of Canaan. In – Genesis 9:20–2720 And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:
21 And he drank of the wine and was drunken, and he was uncovered within his tent.
22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father and told his two brethren without.
23 And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father, and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father’s nakedness.
24 And Noah awoke from his wine and knew what his younger son had done unto him.
25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
26 And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of Shem, and Canaan shall be his servant.
27 God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem, and Canaan shall be his servant.
Canaan was the son of Ham, and he was cursed due to his father’s behavior. I don’t want to talk more about why this happened, but I just want to put out the curse of Canaan was that he would be A SERVANT OF SERVANT. In my culture, as well as Jewish culture, dogs were treated as servants. They slept outside, were allowed to grab the crumbs that fell from the table while the master is dining.
4., O woman, great is thy faith: be it done unto thee even as thou wilt.
This Canaanite mother persisted and overcame all the obstacles. Her name is not known, but we are aware her faith was great. Jesus declared it, and an instant miracle happened.
Let us learn from this woman her reaction to everything she encountered in pursuit of her daughter’s healing.
The woman reactions that qualified her as having great faith.
• She came out
• She cried out
• She continued crying out for help
• She changed her cry into worship
Take action now because Faith without works is dead. Do you have faith in Jesus cry out for help and don’t stop even if you have been labeled a wailer, Keep going turn your Wailing into worship and see the manifestation of His glorious power18768310_1910543555891580_660291680241027224_o?
