Restful Bliss

I love nature, there is something calming and assuring in the way the trees flow with winds, whistling and sometimes clapping. The flow of waters on the rocky streams,or sometimes just flowing quietly and smoothly. But what I love most is to lie or sit on a well manicured, green land under the shade of a tree and just relax.

Whenever I do this I reflect on Psalms 23:2

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
Psalms 23:2 KJV

The Lord is concerned with our rest. In the midst of the busyness around us, He encourages us to take rest and reflect. I believe rest is a part of life that cannot be skipped or ignored. No wonder from the Genesis of the world rest was introduced on the seventh day.

Take time to rest from your busy schedules

Take time to rest from your worries and cares

Take time to rest from your pursuits and passions

A restful bliss brings rejuvenating energy and strength to go on. You may not have a budget to go for vacation but do something restful and relaxing often.

There are times in life when I have not practiced this concept of rest in life. Needless to say the results of continued work with no rest is a burnout and a rollercoaster of emotions that affect everything and everyone around me.

Enjoy some restful bliss moments and let me know how it turns out.

Pray prayerfully
Prayer can be more than words
Prayer can be more than a routine
Prayer can be more than a duty
Prayer can be more than a command

It becomes a lifestyle
It becomes a habit
It becomes a character
It becomes who you are.

When prayer is prayed with understanding
When prayer is prayed with passion
When prayer is made with objection
And above all when prayer is prayed by Faith.

The results are immeasurable
The results are rewarding
The results are encouraging
The results are testimonies.

Don’t just pray , pray prayerfully and i assure you will keep praying for the least to the greatest of your care or worries. For the hearer of the prayers is faithful to answer all our prayers.

Glorious Good Girlfriends

There is a challenge going on currently on social media platforms aimed at women empowering each other. Once tagged one is expected to accept the challenge by posting her picture in black and white. The challenge began in response to one Turkish woman who was brutally murdered. It is to voice together in solidarity No to violence against women. Understanding the concept behind the challenge prompted me to accept it gracefully.

Needless to say the challenge also made me appreciate my girlfriends. Every one needs friends who are genuine. These are people who celebrate you and critic you when necessary.

They are friends who you can be goofy and silly with without fear of judgement. Friends that are there when you need to vent and just get something of your chest without fear of confidentiality issues.

Unfortunately in this era and age, such friends are rare. So if you have such treasure them and become the best friend one can have. The desire to have such friends is ingrained in many people but not everyone has the grace to pursue. The hesitation is derived from past betrayals and heartaches. One may not necessarily have gone through betrayal but I am sure we know of a few who have gone through it. However, one bad experience can not keep you forever from enjoying the gift of friendship.

Proverbs 18:24

“One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”

There is always that friend who will stick with you through high waters. My prayer is that the Lord will connect you with such.

Proverbs 17:17

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.”

Job 16:20-21

“My intercessor is my friend as my eyes pour out tears to God; on behalf of a man he pleads with God as one pleads for a friend.”

May we also pursue becoming better friends to the friends we have. I chose to become that friend who not just have good times, but a friend who can make intercession on behalf of my friends. Thinking of intercession, I know of several people who lost friends because they lacked confidentiality in prayers. A friend shares a prayer need with you and in your ignorance or anxiety you share that need with others. The motive maybe right but eventually it turns from being a prayer need into the hot gossip in your prayer circles. I always say, if someone needs corporate prayers in regard to something they are going through, it’s their responsibility to share with others but not mine.

Proverbs 27:9

Oil and perfume make the heart glad, and the sweetness of a friend comes from his earnest counsel.”

May we enjoy the sweetness of friendship. Sometimes back before the corona happened, together with my girlfriends we had a girls night out. We took our daughters out and just had a fun filled night. Sometimes, due to the busy schedules and various responsibilities we forget to pause and smell the roses.

If there is something this pandemic has taught me is to enjoy every moment for tomorrow is unknown. I challenge you today to appreciate those friends and also embark on a journey to become a better friend.

Romans 12:10

“Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.”

Thank you to all my friends. I appreciate you all. Much love. Let us outdo one another in showing honor.
