Chatting Buddies
Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord , and that thought upon his name. And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.
Malachi 3:16-18 KJV
In this era of Chats I want to have chat Buddies. These are the requirements
- Fears the Lord
- Full of Faith
- Favored
In the era of Milachi there was this group of people who feared the Lord, still held fast to the faith and spoke oftentimes. I believe their conversation was very interesting to attract the King of kings.
I wonder if when I chat with my Buddies if the heavens would pause and take notice. A command was issued and a book was opened and their names were written. It was called a book of Remembrance. Never ever were they to be forgotten just because of a conversation they had with one another.
In this age of trending news, juicy gossip, celebrity personal lives sneek peek, what are you chatting about? With who?
“They thought upon His name”
Every word is processed in our thoughts first. I choose to control my mind and thus control my mouth.
They received a promise which came with benefits. I want that today because it is still available. Hebrew 8:13 He is the same then and now.
If only I can make it a lifestyle of chatting about Him to them that we are of like mind then our names will forever be engraved in the book of remembrance.
And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts
2. We are his possession. He is our father we are His children. We can only reflect and manifest His character.
in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.
3.Spared
When He makes His Jewels we will be spared. To be spared means we will be excused, protected from any painful or refining process.
Jewels undergo a refining process for them to shine and glow. The process is to remove the impurities. Does this mean that our way of living and talking can be a sign of weather we still need to be refined?
Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.
4. There are time when I feel weary of righteous living. When I look at some people who are prosperous in their ways and I tend to wonder why.
David had the same moment of wondering why the wicked people continue to prosper. Their lives looked better or happier.
I know if you are in this class of them that fear the lord you have had such moments too.
But here is a promise! A time has come that there will be a difference between those who serve the lord and those who don’t.
Do not be weary of serving the Lord faithfully for a time has come that there will be a distinction between us and them.
The other day my son was chatting with my former classmate in grade school and she openly shared with him how uncool I was then.
” Your mum was not among the cool kids because she just loved church stuff. But look at her now years later she can confidently ask ” who is cool now?”
That conversation had an impact on him and he said to me , “mum I now know that it’s not about now but in the years to come I need to look back and say I made cool decisions.”
Do not allow the now confuse you. Be steadfast, persistent and consistent. In due time the difference will be visible.
