Peace with the Past
Peace with the past
Whenever our clock of life starts ticking upon birth, our history book is opened. Everyone thus has his or her own past. Just as we say that life is made of ups and downs, the past is made of both good and bad experiences. Unfortunately, the bad takes a toll on us. Often, we find that our dark past will mostly haunt us; interfering with our present life and the future. Some of the decisions we make resulted in unwanted consequences; some which directly affected us or those around us. Remembering such events tends to make us live with a guilt depending on our position in the events.
However, I have come to realize that if we make peace with our past, our lives would be more meaningful and enjoyable.
“Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new.”
2 Corinthians 5:17 ASV
It is important according to the weight in which the past has impacted your life to accept the newness that comes from forgiveness of sins.
That is how I have come to shed away the depressions that emanated from disappointments in my life.
Guilt erases peace! Make peace with the past, and the future will mostly be bright. If we can erase all the guilt in our past, at least we can live with peace of mind.
Our peaceful future depends with how fast we deal with our past guilts.
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus.”
Romans 8:1 ASV
