Feed my sheep

Jesus told Simon Peter,

17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?”
And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.”
Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.
(John 21:17 NKJV Bible)

When I was sixteen years old, in 1993, I had 4 visitations in form of dreams. I wasn’t born again and though I experienced dreams, which I never bothered about, these particular ones were so extraordinary that they couldn’t escape my notice. I have described the first and second ones in different articles but here I will describe the third one
In the dream, my mother had finished cooking chapati and they were piled up in the kitchen, so many of them. It was 1 pm, time for lunch but instead of serving us, she went outside to breastfeed a little baby, in real life we didn’t have a little baby. We followed her there and sat on the grass, her in the middle, waiting for her to finish and give us food. Then I saw the heaven open, a very bright square shaped white light lit and I strained to look at it due to its sharp brightness. Then I knew that it was the end of the world. I also knew that I should tell my mum and siblings because they hadn’t seen the light themselves. It’s only I who saw the light. I thus turned to tell them but suddenly the earth opened where we were seated and all of us got swallowed up by the earth, and then I woke up.
The dream captures the Word of God about the Faithful Servant and the Evil Servant,
45 “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. 47 Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods. 48 But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ 49 and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, 50 the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, 51 and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

(Matthew 24:45-51 NKJV Bible)

Every person has been given a specific purpose to carry out on earth. Some are prophets, teachers of the Word of God, those who encourage the servants of God and the believers, mercy ministry of taking care of the widows, orphans, aliens, evangelists, financing the work of God etc. There is another category of God’s ministers who are in professional careers like doctors, teachers, bank workers and even those in various businesses. They spend the whole day interacting with colleagues and God is using them in a great way to evangelize to the unbelievers, as they are able to reach out to more people who cannot be reached by pastors.
For each one of these purposes is enough food prepared by the help of the Holy Spirit. This includes studying the Word of God, attending college to learn skills and gain knowledge, revelations through dreams and visions, connection with the appropriate people etc. All these purposes are for building the body of Christ. The right time for taking lunch is between 12 and 1 p.m. After that it is late and other programs begin. Jesus is coming for the faithful servant who He finds feeding the flock at the right time or in due season.
Many are called but they get diverted by the devil to other irrelevant things of this world like searching for wealth. There are many works that God has called us to do. The light I saw is the knowledge, skills, wisdom, Grace and favor that each servant of God receives pertaining to his specific calling. The light is seen only by him so that he can light it to the others. That’s why we need each other, as well as fellowship with one another as the light to our situations is with the other person. The Holy Spirit has gifted us differently as individuals and denominations and that’s why God emphasizes on the unity of the body of Christ. The church should be busy conferencing with other churches instead of having unhealthy competition.
Jesus Prayed for All Believers Epilogue

20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.
(John 17:20) NKJV Bible

Every believer should be keen, in his or her area of calling, on what the Holy Spirit wants done every season so that he can relay it to the body of Christ for its growth. No one else is entrusted with the business that God has given us, so if we fail, the church suffers much and moreover, we shall be held accountable by God. This is evident in the call of Ezekiel,

16 Now it came to pass at the end of seven days that the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 17 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me: 18 When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. 19 Yet, if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul. 20 “Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die; because you did not give him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at your hand. 21 Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man that the righteous should not sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live because he took warning; also you will have delivered your soul.”
(Ezekiel 3:16-21). NKJV Bible

When everyone is asleep in the night, a watch man remains awake and alert so that if the enemy or any danger appears, he can warn the people. Every servant should not sleep on his gift. He should keep the body of Christ updated on anything new. If one is called to sing on the moral values in the society, he should be updated on contemporary issues and through his songs guide the society on the way to go, of course guided by the Word of God. If one is called to intercede for the nation, his concern should be every event in the country, be it the economy, political issues, religious or social issues, and lead the intercessory team to pray about them, with the leading of the Holy Spirit. Others are called to admonish the servants of God through guidance and counseling. They should not fear because if they fail, both the servant and they will perish.
Everyone is called to serve but everyone has a duty to keep feeding on the Word of God and revelations from the Holy Spirit so that they can replenish the stores. This is done by sitting under a pastor who guides them on the way to go and also listening or fellow-shipping with other servants of God.

3 And when the man went out to the east with the line in his hand, he measured one thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the water came up to my ankles. 4 Again he measured one thousand and brought me through the waters; the water came up to my knees. Again he measured one thousand and brought me through; the water came up to my waist. 5 Again he measured one thousand, and it was a river that I could not cross the river that could not be crossed. 6 He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen this?” Then he brought me and returned me to the bank of the river.
(Ezekiel 47:3-6). NKJV Bible

The depth of the water is the depth to which the servant of God has searched for the presence of God.

5 The Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court; and behold, the glory of the Lord filled the temple.
(Ezekiel 43:5). NKJV Bible

When he has gathered enough spiritual food, he should release it to the people he has been given to serve. We are the temple of God and should seek to be filled with the glory of God as Ezekiel saw, let it flow out of us and to the society for the purpose of cleansing it from evil and filling it with God’s values.

Then he brought me back to the door of the temple; and there was water, flowing from under the threshold of the temple toward the east, for the front of the temple faced east; the water was flowing from under the right side of the temple, south of the altar. 2 He brought me out by way of the north gate, and led me around on the outside to the outer gateway that faces east; and there was water, running out on the right side.
( Ezekiel 47:1-2). NKJV Bible

The present society is full of wickedness and the creation is suffering waiting for us sons of God to be manifested.

18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.
( Romans 8:18-19). NKJV Bible

When we allow the power of God to manifest through us, then the salty sea (wicked society) will be clean and the creation live in peace and plenty.

7 When I returned, there, along the bank of the river, were very many trees on one side and the other. 8 Then he said to me: “This water flows toward the eastern region, goes down into the valley, and enters the sea. When it reaches the sea, its waters are healed. 9 And it shall be that every living thing that moves, wherever the rivers go, will live. There will be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters go there; for they will be healed, and everything will live wherever the river goes. 10 It shall be that fishermen will stand by it from En Gedi to En Eglaim; they will be places for spreading their nets. Their fish will be of the same kinds as the fish of the Great Sea, exceedingly many. 11 But its swamps and marshes will not be healed; they will be given over to salt. Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month, because their water flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for medicine.”
(Ezekiel 47:7-12 NKJV Bible)

Some have been called to serve students, others given professionals, depending on where God has placed you. Actually, God is using professionals in a great way to spread the gospel and the Word of God because they are the ones interacting with the people as they serve in their places of work, considering that many people don’t go to church and if they do, they lack a one on one kind of interaction with the servants of God.
As we serve the body of Christ, we must adhere to the requirements specified, that is holiness, without which no one will see God.

12 This is the law of the temple: The whole area surrounding the mountaintop is most holy. Behold, this is the law of the temple.
(Ezekiel 43:12).

Finally we shall rejoice when we look at our service to the body of Christ and are able to see it reflecting the glory of God.

35 All the way around shall be eighteen thousand cubits; and the name of the city from that day shall be: THE LORD IS THERE.”
(Ezekiel 48:35) NKJV Bible

The dream also has a literal meaning because the year 2019 is one we have witnessed landslides that are burying people alive and unawares, especially in central region of Kenya. The Covid 19 pandemic has also killed so many people worldwide. This just confirms that the end of the world is a reality.

11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them.
(Revelation 20:11) NKJV Bible

If a pandemic can sweep out such millions of people, it is also true that God’s presence will cause the heaven and earth to disappear. The Word of God is true and trustworthy. But we should not fear because

3 He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.
(Psalms 121:3-4 NKJV Bible)

God is sure to protect His loved ones. He created the devil and the demons for the purpose of judging the rebellious. But for the righteous, it shall be well,

16 “Behold, I have created the blacksmith
Who blows the coals in the fire,
Who brings forth an instrument for his work;
And I have created the spoiler to destroy.
17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord.
(Isaiah 54:16,17 NKJV Bible)

Let us therefore accept Jesus Christ by getting born again, then search through prayers, the reason for God creating us and work to accomplish it. Let’s build the body of Christ with quality materials for the reward is glorious. God bless you.
